Today we started lit centres for the first time. Lit centres are when we get to do language arts related activities, in small groups, at one of several different stations. We will take turns rotating through each station over the next week.
The theme of our current stations is designed to help us with our sight words. These are the words that phonics don’t help us learn. Words that we need to memorize in order to determine what spoken word it represents. Every week will will learn a different set of sight words.
If you want to learn more about sight words, you can look here.
This week our words are: A, I, and, to, the. You can help us at home by pointing out when you see these words in our everyday life.
